Comment: Picked this up for my girlfriend for Christmas. She loves cooking healthy, and cooks a lot of stuff out of it. The recipes still have flavor despite the whole healthy thing.

Summary: quicky, simple recipes 2010-06-17
Comment: I never really watched Elie on Food Network, but this book is very useful. Two chapters each for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, and a nutrition guide at the back. Each recipe is laid out cleanly on one page with, in many cases, the opposing page showing a photo of the finished dish. About as complex as the recipes get is the Pork Piccata with Spinach and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. They also get as simple as Express "Steamed" Spinach--that page is almost all white space, and about five lines of text. (Microwave your spinach.) I recommend the maple squash puree! One drawback: no estimates given of prep time.

Comment: This is a great cook book. I was looking to feed my family healthyer food but was limited in my knowledge/ideas. I work all day so i was looking for ways to feed my family healty food that didn't take hours to get from the stove to the table. This book has so many great recipes and they are truly simple. My kids have loved everything i have cooked for them. I have purchased another one of her books and it is just as good (not as quick). I would definatley recomend this cook book for anyone who is looking to make a possitive change in their eating habbits but don't know where to start. GOOD LUCK

Comment: I have Ellie's previous cookbook and love it so much that I knew I had to buy this one as well. She is fabulous at creating recipes that are so delicious and healthy! I enjoy her television show and the cookbooks are the best. There are wonderful pictures which adds to the enjoyment of reading the book and finding new recipes to try. ALL the recipes turn out wonderful and delicious!
