The global Tiki Drink revival is in full swing. But without Beachbum Berry's Grog Log and Intoxica!, there'd be nothing to drink. These two groundbreaking books revealed the top-secret, never-before-published, "lost" exotic drink recipes from Tiki's original midcentury heyday. Author Jeff Berry has unearthed a lot more recipes since his first two books, and picked up a lot more drink lore too. He's spilling it all in Beachbum Berry Remixed, a completely revised and updated anthology of the Grog Log and Intoxica!, featuring 40 newly discovered, previously unpublished vintage Tiki drink recipes from the 1930s-1960s, 38 of the best new recipes from today's Tiki revival, gathered especially for Remixed from the world's top mixologists and cocktail writers, expanded drink history and lore, incorporating newly discovered information about the origins of the Mai Tai, Zombie, Suffering bastard, and other legendary Tiki mysteries.

Summary: "THE" Tiki drink bible to own! 2010-08-19
Comment: This is the best Tiki drink book I've come across by far... and I own more than a few. Worth the money to own. It really gets me into the adventure of the Tiki experience every time I pick it up!

Summary: The Bum's Absolute Best Book Ever! 2010-07-01
Comment: So I think I own all the preceding books that Jeff Berry has written, but all I can say is that this is the pinnacle. His best ever, without a doubt. Jeff claims to be a bum and hate work, which is obviously one of his many many jokes, but the effort and care that has gone into producing this book is also obvious. No one in the world knows more and shares more about this subject than the Bum. He is the Man! So even if you own any (or all) of his other books, believe me when I say that this one is worth having too. I am thinking that it is going to be this year's Christmas gift to all my best friends and ... gasp! clients. (I am sure that I will get many more jobs after they start diving into this! How could they resist?? Just try a "Hart of Darkness"... resistance is futile!) Thank you, Jeff Berry! A fantastic effort!

Summary: I'm not as think as you drunk I am 2010-06-11
Comment: What a great update - I spent so much time reading it last night that I didn't actually get to making a drink! So many touches: new art and photos, sidebars, notes, improved recipes, making Intoxica available affordably, instructions for making rare ingredients, and lots of hideous tiki mugs.
I appreciate the Bum's softening attitude towards Harry Owens. He was hardly the one-hit wonder described in an earlier book. He had many big hits that are still covered widely today. And the Bum more clearly represents Owens' "recreation" of the Mai Tai. Hey, what's wrong with trying to recreate a drink, even if it's available a few steps away? What's wrong is simply the way Owens' stepped into a controversy. For a humorous take: [...]
One might say that composers such as Owens are to traditional Hawaiian music what the drinks in this book are to kava!
Anyway, this book is bigger and better than its predecessors. What's it all leading up to?

Summary: Another great tiki drink book! 2010-06-06
Comment: I practically wore out my Grog Log. The pages containing "Pieces of Eight" and "Chief Lapu Lapu" are almost indecipherable. Here we have Berry's first two books combined? Tiki genius!

Summary: A Must for Any Home Tiki Bar!! 2010-05-09
Comment: I was lucky enough to meet the author at the world-famous Mai Kai where he signed my book for me. I have not been able to put it down since I brought it home! What a wealth of information! It is not just a recipe book either, it has tons of beautiful picutres, history, glossy pages, etc. I LOVE the ounce equivalent chart and the recipes for home-made sugar and passion fruit syrups (both of which I made yesterday). My first attempt at a drink recipe came last night when I made a batch of "Chief Lapu Lapus". Delicious and fun to make, can't wait to try more!! This book sits proudly in my tiki bar, would not be the same without it! Jeff (the author) is amazing and so is this wonderful book!!!
